A rectangular portal form in three materials: a deep dark bronze column on the left, its inner face fitted with a full-height slab of electric cobalt blue glass — translucent, luminous, charged with depth — and a cream travertine column on the right, the two joined at the top by a flat bronze lintel that completes the frame. Solid stone, cast metal, and translucent glass — create a refined balance of texture and depth. The dark bronze column and lintel are cast in solid metal and hand-patinated through multiple stages, moving from bright copper at the bevelled edges to a deep, layered bronze-brown across the flat faces. The cobalt blue glass slab is hand-cast and polished on all faces; its interior captures and holds light like a column of deep ocean water, shifting between electric blue in direct light and deep navy in shadow. The cream travertine column is hand-selected for the evenness of its surface and the warmth of its tone, its natural speckle providing a textural counterpoint to the precision of the metal and glass.
